Knicks Host Pizza Making Party at Uncle Paul’s Pizza

Friday, November 16, 2012

The New York Knicks and Garden of Dreams continued their holiday spirit by hosting a fun filled pizza-making party at Uncle Paul’s Pizza near Grand Central Terminal in Manhattan. Thirty children from Garden of Dreams partner organization, WHEDco were greeted by Santa at the doors of Uncle Paul’s Pizza inviting them in for a pizza party they will never forget. The children were outfitted in purple Garden of Dreams aprons and chef hats and were introduced to their cooking partners for the evening, Knicks players Tyson Chandler, Amar’e Stoudemire, Steve Novak and Kurt Thomas. Dressed in their Knicks aprons, Chandler, Stoudemire, Novak and Thomas were ready to make personal pizza pies with their friends from Garden of Dreams.
Chef Dino from Uncle Paul’s Pizza was on-hand to give cooking lessons on how to knead the dough to create the perfect crust, share the secret of spreading the exact amount of sauce and explain the special technique of sprinkling the cheese to create an incredible tasting pizza. In small groups, each child got the chance to make their personalized pizzas and enjoy a chocolate fondue fountain alongside their favorite Knicks. Before leaving, each child received gift bags, autographs and pictures from the Knicks players. The children were truly enjoyed the special evening spent with their new Knicks friends.
